Halloween is not even here yet and if you're anything like me you're already dreaming of Christmas. The twinkling lights, freshly fallen snow, the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree and Kenny and Dolly on the turntable.
This weekend the weather has turned a bit colder and I find myself wrapped in a blanket scrolling through Etsy. I could lose hours on Etsy without even realizing it. I'm a sucker for handmade items. Worse, I don't have a crafty bone in my body. My 'favourites' page on Etsy is filled with hundreds of items from amazing artisans.
While scrolling tonight I thought I'd highlight 25 of my favourites. **Warning: if you're not a current Etsy user you may find yourself down a deep rabbit hole without realizing it.
Check out my list below and if you're a Christmas and Etsy lover as I am, it would be awesome if you shared any of your favourites with me in the comments below. It's about a 5 minute read. Enjoy!
On Christmas Eve I let my kids open a gift which is usually Christmas pajamas and a book. I love the idea of this personalized Christmas eve box with our family to set the tradition.
My mom always said that a good runner does the same thing for a festive table as good flooring does for a room, it brings it all together. This natural unbleached organic cotton runner features the calligraphy writing of the Etsy store vendor, Alyssa.
In our house, we've embraced the Santa Sack tradition of leaving the empty sack out on Christmas Eve for Santa to fill when he arrives. These unique, custom burlap-like canvas Santa sacks from Lauren and Gracie are super fun! These bags measure 20x28 inches and are customized by adding a family name to the tag.
I'm always looking for unique hand made ornaments to set my Christmas tree apart. You won't find this handmade ceramic ornament set at a department store. Featuring heart-inspiring words like 'love', 'believe', and 'wish' in gold and silver script these ornaments are from Pixie Greens.
I think the thing I love most about leaving Milk and Cookies out for Santa is the look in my children's eyes as they discover the mostly eaten cookies and the empty glass of milk. Even more so, we use this tradition to teach our children gratitude for the gifts they received at Christmas. This white plate can be customized with your children's names and the glass milk jug is included.
I'm a big fan of throw pillows as its an easy quick way to transform the main room at the turn of the season. They also help to make things extra comfy and cozy.
For those of you who don't wait until Christmas Eve to wrap presents as I do, these personalized Christmas gift tags add a special touch to any wrapping.
For the rest of us who do our wrapping at 11:30 on Christmas Eve these reusable Christmas gift tags not only save you time they make it look like you've got it together.
We're expecting our third child just before Christmas and I just fell in love with these Christmas mocs. A perfect gift for those who are expecting ;-).
There's debate in our house as to when I could put a sign like this up and apparently year round is not acceptable. That being said, I think I've got my husband on board for the day after Thanksgiving.
I love a good mug. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I do enjoy a splash in my Bailey's. I'm a big fan of pretty mugs and a Starbucks gift card for the impossible to shop for people on my list.
Another go-to gift for me is a bottle of wine and fun wine glasses. Who doesn't love to drink from a fun glass? Festive glassware gets the party rolling.
I'm a big fan of plaids this year and the combination of burlap and plaid in this garland gives me all the feels.
If you can't tell I'm a big fan of Christmas decorating and I like to do it early. I love live greenery but they don't last the whole season. This garland is the perfect substitute as it's stunning and doesn't look like a second-rate replacement.
Besides Elf on the Shelf my kids other favourite tradition is the Advent calendar, but I loathe those cheap dollar store chocolate boxes sitting on my counters. This unique handmade advent calendar solves my problem. I can fill the dates with some treats or other fun activities for us to do as a family and it adds a fun element to my Christmas decor.
Is there anything cuter than a family photo Christmas morning in front of the tree with everyone in matching jammies? The hardest part is convincing your husband to put to put on a flannel onesie with a bum flap. But I think he'll be an easy sell with these. I love that we can put our family name on them and we can wear the pants year round.
I've already mentioned how and why I love throw pillows but my husband claims it might be an addiction. This simple Christmas pillow cover is an easy change over with one of my regular pillows and my husband can't get on my case for BUYING ANOTHER PILLOW ;-)
I love card shopping and always have a box of cards on hand for all different occasions. These handmade cards are simple and pretty and a great touch.
A simple rustic wood sign can add so much to a room and I love everything from this Etsy store. Handmade from reclaimed wood and I love that’s it's another décor piece that can stay up through the whole winter season. I love that pieces like this add instant warmth to a room. Check out my other favourite from this seller.
A front door wreath adds instant curb appeal to your home. The colour and simplicity of this design are perfect and you could probably get away with keeping it up year round.
Geometrics are all the rage right now. This would make a great indoor or outdoor piece.
I love the simplicity of this tree skirt. The personalized initial adds to the tradition of rolling it out each year. I feel like this tree skirt would fit no matter the theme or style of your tree which makes it a piece you could keep and use for years.
In a sea of options of baby's first ornaments, these stand out for their personalization and the beautifully simple birch rounds. So much more the annual generic Hallmark baby ornament. If you have a baby or know someone who does, a baby's first ornament is a must. I love unpacking my kid's each year.
I bought an ornament like this for my husband to celebrate our first home together. Since then, I've purchased others for family and friends. They're a super thoughtful gift idea and one that will be cherished for many years.
As you can see, I'm currently leaning toward rustic, country and natural Christmas settings and things grounded in tradition.
Congrats you made it to the end without fall down the rabbit hole completely. Now, go check out some of the links and discover your favourites. I hope liked my picks and if you have a favourite Christmas item on Etsy we'd love to see it in the comments below.
